Celebrating The 2022 Elly Awards!

On June 13th, we returned to The Plaza for the 2022 Elly Awards luncheon, our annual fundraising event to benefit The Education Fund. The fund provides financial awards of $10,000 for women over the age of 35 pursuing their first college degrees – our Scholars.

The event was a joy filled success as we celebrated our Scholars and honored Jane Pauley who spoke candidly about her own mental health issues and advocacy work during the keynote interview with Forum Vice President, Stephanie Mehta.

“When I entered the room I felt, I have a family where there is love, joy, encouragement, and support!“ – 2020 Scholar Popy Chowdhury, LaGuardia Community College, Fine Arts

“When I walked into the room, I was instantly empowered by the strength. The joy. The excitement. The fellowship. I felt like I belonged. I honestly thought I was just applying for a scholarship (or educational support). But attending The Elly Awards, I realized I stumbled upon something greater. A sisterhood, a family. I’m so glad I did.“ – 2021 Scholar Turquoise Martin, Hunter College, Urban Studies
