Letting Each Other Know...

SUBHA BARRY, President, Working Mother Media, testified before the US House of Representatives Committee on Financial Services about how America’s big banks can make their workforces more diverse and their workplaces more inclusive. Read her recommendations HERE.

AMY BUTTE, Director & Advisor, became an advisor to a new company, MINDD Bra which owns a unique focus and POV on the D+ consumer which represents 66% of women in the US.  MINDD launched in February with an exclusive in WWD and has received rave reviews.

GLORIA FELDT, Founder and President, Take The Lead Leadership Parity Movement, Take The Lead’s inaugural’s Power Up Conference took place February 28-29 in Scottsdale featuring over 20 speakers advancing gender parity in business, professions, and politics, which is Take The Lead’s mission. Coinciding with Leap Day,  the most feminist of holidays, one keynote panel featured three female AZ mayors of Phoenix, Flagstaff. and Tucscon—an unusual level of female political leadership. Participants from Take The Lead’s powerful 50 Women Can Change the World Leadership Cohorts in nonprofits, journalism, media, and entertainment, and healthcare, as well as other women from around the country, will come together for two days of skill-building, networking, and inspiring keynotes. Applications are now being taken for the next cohort of journalists and health care leaders, and will soon be open for the first cohort of 50 Women Can Change the World in Law. MOIRA FORBES, President & Publisher, Forbes Woman, Forbes Media, in partnership with Mika Brzezinski (a 2019 ELLY Award Honoree) and her “Know Your Value” initiative, has created a first of it’s kind list, shining a light on 50 diverse women over the age of 50 who have achieved significant success later in life, often by overcoming formidable odds or barriers. JOAN HAFFENRFFER, President, Women’s Forum of NY, along with Forum colleagues, BARBARA MARCUS, President of the Women’s Forum Education Fund & ELAINE WOOD, represented the Education Fund at John Jay College’s Champions of Justice Reception on February 27th. The event highlights organizations whose grants and/or scholarships have had a large impact on the John Jay student population. John Jay President and Forum member, KAROL MASON hosted the reception. SALLIE KRAWCHECK, CEO and Co-Founder, Ellevest, was featured in FastCompany’s “Day On, Day Off” series, where she spoke about her work at Ellevest and her “day off” which included speaking at a Goop Wellness Summit.

BERNICE K. LEBER, Senior Partner, Arent Fox LLP, was honored to be named to Crain’s 2020 100 Most Notable Women In Law.

ANNE CLAIRE LEGENDRE, Consul General of France in New York, joined the celebration in Paris where Diane von Furstenberg was presented with the Chevalier de la Legion D’Honneur by Christine Lagarde in appreciation of the $100 million dollars she has raised for the Statue of Liberty Museum.

TARA WALPERT LEVY, VP Agency and Media Solutions, Google, was appointed to the Board of Directors of Braze.

LAURA CLAYTON MCDONNELL, Vice President, Enterprise Sales – East Region, ServiceNow, was chosen to be the speaker at the University of California at Berkeley, Haas School of Business 2020 Full-time MBA commencement. The MBA commencement will take place on Friday, May 22, 2020, at the Greek Theatre.

MARISSA SHORENSTEIN, recently accepted a new role at WeWork as their Chief Communications Officer. She most recently served as AT&T’s President, Northern Region.

CHERYL WILLS, Anchor/Reporter-NY1 News, President & CEO, Wills Publishing & Productions, LLC, spoke about the publication of her new book, Emma, with Pat Kiernan on his podcast. The book delves into her family’s history, including her great, great, great Grandfather escaping slavery and fighting in the Civil War, and his wife, Emma, a literacy advocate.

Harmony Program seeks a new Chair, Board of Directors. The new Chair will possess a passion for music and care deeply about underserved young students and their communities. The new Chair continues the efforts of the current Chair (10 years), Roy Niederhoffer, Founder & President, R. G. Niederhoffer Capital Management (Hedge Fund).
