MYRA BIBLOWIT, President & CEO, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, would like to invite Forum members to join her in support of BCRF’s 25th year (created by longtime Forum member, the late Evelyn Lauder) which will be celebrated at the Hot Pink Party on Wednesday, May 15 at the Park Avenue Armory. This year the Roslyn and Leslie Goldstein Unsung Hero Award, the centerpiece of the evening, will be presented by Jenny Fine, WWD’s Executive Editor, Beauty, to Sonia Kashuk, a titan in the beauty industry. All proceeds from the gala support BCRF’s investment in promising breast cancer research. BCRF is the largest private funder of breast cancer research worldwide. PAMELA CRAIG, Corporate Board Director, Akamai Technologies, Merk & Co. and Progressive Insurance, recently participated in the Equilar Board Leadership Forum: Rooted in the Past. Looking to the Future: Board Succession. This Forum explored the topic of proactive succession of corporate boards. Forum members Janice Ellig and Lisa Shalett were also featured speakers. ANNETTE GREEN, President Emeritus, The Fragrance Foundation, won the very prestigious Perfumed Plume award for 2019 Perfume Book of the Year for Spritzing to Success with the Woman Who Brought an Industry to Its Senses. Annette will be doing a book signing at Bloomingdale’s 59th ST on May 11 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm for Mother’s Day.  Shoppers who make a fragrance purchase of $175 will receive an autographed book from Annette and a Godiva Chocolate Gift.

LIZ HAMBURG, President & CEO, Upstart Ventures LLP, is excited to share the launch of the website for her newest business – Candoo Tech – tech support and training for older people. Candoo Tech is offering in person and remote support to older adults to help them fix existing technology, set up and install new technologies (including fall detection devices) and teach them how to better use their phones, tablets and computers to stay more independent, secure and engaged. In addition to one on one support, Candoo is offering group Candoo Learning sessions. Liz was inspired to start Candoo based partly on her personal experience (mom Joan has been a long-time member of the Forum). Candoo is working closely with adult children to help support their families and keep them informed.

DAVIA TEMIN, President & CEO, Temin & Company Inc., was recently featured in her alma mater newspaper, The Swarthmore Phoenix for a Board of Manager’s profile. Davia was interviewed by a current student on #MeToo, finding her path, and her experiences with gender equity in business — including being “almost always the only woman in the room” on Wall Street. In addition, Voice of America just published a video profile – released simultaneously in 85 countries – on “The Fixer,” featuring Davia and her several “crisis rules” that firms and people can use when faced with catastrophe. Bloomberg, on the anniversary of the #MeToo movement, profiled Davia and her firm’s work on the Temin Index, the largest known inventory of #MeToo accusations since Bill Cosby, used to glean trends and key statistics from the movement in order to advise executive management in the most discrete and impactful ways.  Click HERE to read the entire article.
